First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church was organized May 13, 1951, in the Court Room of the Grant County Courthouse with 215 members.  A tent meeting on the courthouse lawn resulted in 97 additions to the church.  Present membership is over 1100.

Under the direction of the first pastor, Brother Marvin H. Harry, a church building was erected in 1952 at 402 West Center Street.  On August 16, 1982, lightning struck the steeple and the facility was completely destroyed by fire.  A new facility was erected on the same sight, with the first service being held August 7, 1983.  The Christian Activities Center complex was completed in 1997.

First Landmark affiliates with the American Baptist Association, and liberally supports missions.
